More than 2,700 donors support annual campaign

For 24 hours this week, the 成人AV community came together to make a significant impact for the University. One Day for 成人AV, the annual initiative to support and build awareness for meaningful causes spanning the entire institution, far surpassed its overall goal of 2,500 donors and $400,000.

Thanks to the support of over 2,700 donors 鈥 among them 成人AV students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and other supporters 鈥 One Day on May 23 raised more than $466,000. Donors gave to over 200 designations. The campaign, now in its fourth year, surpassed last year鈥檚 2,200 donors and $400,000.

鈥淚t鈥檚 incredible to see the level of engagement we had for One Day for 成人AV,鈥 says Mike Garvey, assistant director for annual giving. 鈥淭he support that these causes receive will help ensure that students have access to programs that are committed to making a difference in our community and around the world.鈥

This year鈥檚 campaign featured 32 crowdfunding projects to support clubs, internships, grants, scholarships, programs, partnerships and more. Twenty-one of the causes had a dollar-for-dollar match and donor giving challenge.

The project supporting the 150th anniversary of 成人AV Athletics raised the most money 鈥 taking in more than $135,000 at last count. Funds collected for this cause go to the 17 Division I varsity sports and all recreation programs.

The Pioneer Leadership Program鈥檚 Passport for Leadership Development received a large number of support with nearly 600听donors. The program aims to provide every PLP student with at least $500 to further their leadership development through conferences, internships and community engagement opportunities.

The University-Wide Scholarship Support initiative raised over $20,000 to support scholarship options benefitting a variety of majors and academic units. More than 85 percent of students across campus receive financial assistance to attend the 成人AV.
