The ����AV is increasing funding for veteran students through the Yellow Ribbon Program. The University announced that beginning this fall it will offer a $5,000 match for eligible Post- 9/11 GI Bill undergraduate and graduate students. Universities that participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program make additional funds available for veterans attending an out-of-state or private university. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs matches all contributions made by an institution.

U.S. News & World Report recently ranked ����AV as 53rd��on its list of “Best Colleges for Veterans,” and the University is eager to continue improving services and support for veteran students.

“We need our veterans to be thoroughly educated,” said ����AV Chancellor Rebecca Chopp. “We double our resources and the government doubles its commitment to these veterans. We hope that by providing our veterans more resources we will also attract more veterans to the ����AV.”

In addition, The ����AV’s����will offer eligible veterans unlimited Yellow Ribbon funding for those accepted into Daniels graduate programs. The unlimited funding means that the College will provide enough backing to cover tuition and fees each year for these students.

“We want veterans in our programs,” said Brad Rosenwinkel, executive director of Graduate Admissions and Academic Services for Daniels. “Veterans make great students. They have a great skillset. They offer a diverse and global perspective in the classroom. They are great leaders, team members and they represent our brand very well.”

Matt Frost, an MBA candidate at Daniels, was an Artillery Officer in the United States Army. He’s now the President of the Graduate Business Student Association (GBSA) and was the founding Vice President of Veterans Affairs for the GBSA.

“Veterans are motivated and mobile,” Frost says. “They want to get the best education possible, but private universities seem out of reach. What Daniels is doing with the Yellow Ribbon Program makes getting a high-quality education attainable.”
